Wisdom Tooth Removal the Way It Should Be: Fast, Calm, and Pain-Free

Most people put off wisdom tooth extraction because they’re scared of pain or a long recovery. At OClinic, our patients consistently tell us the opposite: it was faster than they expected, more comfortable than they imagined, and they only regret waiting so long.

  • Done in as little as 10 minutes Straightforward cases can be completed in under 10 minutes. Even more complex removals are handled efficiently thanks to Dr. Omar’s specialist surgical training, reducing your time in the chair significantly.
  • You feel nothing during the procedure We use local anaesthesia so you’re completely numb throughout. No sharp sensations, no sudden pain, just gentle pressure. Our patients are genuinely surprised by how comfortable it is.
  • Back to normal in 3–5 days Recovery is much shorter than people expect. Most patients return to work the next day. The minimally traumatic technique Dr. Omar uses means less swelling, less soreness, and a faster return to normal life.
  • Even impacted or difficult cases are welcome Many clinics turn away complex wisdom tooth cases. Dr. Omar Amer’s specialty in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery means impacted, angled, or buried wisdom teeth are handled comfortably and safely, right here in New Cairo.
  • X-ray assessment before any decision is made We examine your X-rays first. We never recommend extraction unless it’s genuinely necessary. If your wisdom teeth are fine, we’ll tell you, and you won’t be charged for the consultation.

Signs Your Wisdom Tooth Needs to Come Out

Wisdom teeth don’t always need removal, but when they do, waiting only makes things worse. Here are the most common signs that it’s time to act.

Constant Pain in the Back of Your Jaw

Aching, pressure, or throbbing near your last molars (especially if it comes and goes) is a classic sign of a wisdom tooth pushing through or growing in the wrong direction.

Swollen or Sore Gum Around the Tooth

Redness, swelling, or tenderness around a wisdom tooth means the area is likely infected or inflamed. This often worsens over time without extraction.

Difficulty Opening Your Mouth or Chewing

If opening wide is painful or chewing on one side hurts, a wisdom tooth may be putting pressure on the jaw joint or surrounding teeth: a clear signal it needs attention.

Your Other Teeth Are Starting to Crowd

Wisdom teeth can push against neighbouring teeth, causing crowding or shifting. If your previously straight teeth are moving, a wisdom tooth may be the culprit.

Half-Emerged Tooth You Can’t Clean Properly

A partially erupted wisdom tooth creates a pocket where bacteria thrive. This often leads to recurring infections (pericoronitis) and decay in both the wisdom tooth and the adjacent molar.

Dentist Saw It on X-Ray & Recommended Removal

Sometimes wisdom teeth don’t cause obvious symptoms yet, but an X-ray shows they’re growing at an angle toward your other teeth or into the nerve. Removing them early prevents future problems.

Your Wisdom Tooth Removal: Step by Step

From your first call to full recovery, here’s exactly what happens at OClinic so you know what to expect before you even walk through the door.

1
Before You Come In

Book & Share Your X-Ray (If You Have One)

Call or WhatsApp us to book your appointment. If you already have a recent dental X-ray or CBCT scan, you can share it with us beforehand so Dr. Omar can review your case and give you an informed idea of what to expect before you arrive.

2
Consultation

Assessment: We Only Extract If Necessary

Dr. Omar Amer examines you and reviews your imaging. He will honestly tell you whether removal is needed now, can wait, or isn’t necessary at all. No pressure. No unnecessary procedures. If extraction is needed, he’ll walk you through exactly what will happen.

3
Anaesthesia

You’re Numbed. You Feel Nothing.

Local anaesthesia is administered precisely, ensuring the entire area is completely numb. We wait until you confirm you feel nothing before proceeding. Most patients are surprised by how quickly and gently this is done. For anxious patients, we take all the time needed.

4
Extraction

The Removal: As Fast as 10 Minutes

Once you’re numb, the extraction begins. You may feel some pressure, but no pain. Straightforward cases are completed in as little as 10 minutes. Even complex impacted wisdom teeth are handled with minimally invasive technique to reduce swelling and speed recovery. Dr. Omar’s maxillofacial surgical training makes all the difference here.

5
After Care

Clear Instructions. You’re Good to Go.

Before you leave, we give you clear, simple aftercare instructions: what to eat, what to avoid, and what to expect over the next few days. Most patients recover in 3 to 5 days. You’ll also have our number if anything comes up, we’re always reachable on WhatsApp.

Why Wisdom Tooth Extraction with a Specialist Is Different

Wisdom tooth removal can range from simple to highly complex. When a general dentist reaches the limit of their training, they refer you elsewhere, costing you time, money, and anxiety. Dr. Omar Amer is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon: complex cases are precisely what he trained for.

  • Impacted wisdom teeth are his everyday work As a maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Omar routinely handles the cases that other dental clinics cannot, including horizontally impacted wisdom teeth, bone-embedded teeth, and proximity to the nerve.
  • EACMFS & IAOMFS Member & Speaker Active in the global surgical community, presenting research and staying current with the most advanced techniques so his patients benefit first.
  • Founded OClinic in 2016, serving New Cairo for nearly a decade Thousands of patients across Madinaty and Mivida have trusted OClinic with their dental care, from the simplest cleaning to the most complex surgery.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction FAQs

Everything patients ask before booking their appointment. If your question isn’t here, just WhatsApp us.

How long does wisdom tooth extraction actually take?
In straightforward cases, the extraction itself can take as little as 10 minutes. More complex or impacted wisdom teeth require more time, but Dr. Omar Amer’s maxillofacial surgical training means even difficult cases are handled efficiently. Your total visit (including consultation, anaesthesia, and aftercare briefing) typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes.
Will it hurt? I’m really scared of the dentist.
During the procedure: no, it will not hurt. Local anaesthesia completely numbs the area. You may feel gentle pressure as the tooth is removed, but pain is not part of the experience. Afterwards, mild soreness is normal for a few days and easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief. We are very used to anxious patients. We take our time, explain everything, and go at your pace.
How long is recovery? When can I go back to work?
Most patients are back to their normal routine within 3 to 5 days. Swelling peaks around 48 hours then reduces rapidly. Many patients go to work the day after a simple extraction. Dr. Omar’s minimally traumatic technique significantly reduces recovery time compared to less experienced providers. You’ll leave with clear, simple aftercare instructions.
Do I need to remove all 4 wisdom teeth at once?
Not necessarily. We examine each wisdom tooth individually. You may only need one or two removed, or none at all, if they’re erupting normally. We never recommend extraction unless it’s genuinely needed. If all four do need removing, we can discuss doing them together or in separate visits depending on your preference and case complexity.
My wisdom tooth is impacted. Can you handle that?
Yes, impacted wisdom teeth are exactly the type of case Dr. Omar Amer is best equipped to handle. His specialty in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery covers all forms of impaction: horizontal, angled, bone-embedded, and those close to the inferior alveolar nerve. Many clinics refer these cases out. We handle them in-house.
How much does wisdom tooth removal cost in New Cairo?
Cost depends on the complexity of your case, simple erupted wisdom teeth cost less than impacted or surgical extractions. WhatsApp us at 01033003433 (Madinaty) or 01022266333 (Mivida) with your X-ray (if you have one) and we’ll give you an honest, personalised estimate.
Do you offer wisdom tooth extraction at both Madinaty and Mivida?
Yes. Wisdom tooth extraction is performed at both our Madinaty dental clinic and our Mivida dental clinic. Both locations serve the same specialist team with the same clinical standards.
